Two hundred years of thunderstorms in <scp>Oxford</scp>

Meteorological records commenced at the Radcliffe Observatory in Oxford 1772. Detailed of thunderstorm occurrence are available between 1828 and 1986; since 1986 a reliable private record thunder frequency from has been used to extend 2019, forming almost 200 years for city – probably unique anywhere world. This newly digitised is examined long-term (decadal) trends frequency, by Lamb Weather Type. Comparisons made with other long-period West London, around 75km southeast Oxford. Reasons account marked reduction last decade suggested.
